Collection: Stefan Kavsjö

Stefan Kavsjö captures the natural landscape in moments of transition, creating abstract impressionistic scenes that, while not strictly representational, evoke the essence of nature’s changing moods. Working primarily in oil, he excels in layering techniques, where delicate glazes and overlapping paint create depth and captivating shifts in light.

Based in his studio in Kullavik, just south of Gothenburg, Stefan is constantly influenced by the ever-changing coastal light—whether on a late summer evening or a crisp midwinter day. The movement of clouds and the shifting illumination serve as his greatest inspiration.

Trained at an art school in Gothenburg, he gained early success with several exhibitions by the age of 23. However, life led him in a different direction, and he took a long hiatus from painting, though creativity remained a constant presence. In recent years, he has returned to painting with renewed passion, drawing from both the vast external landscapes and his own inner world to create expressive, contrasting compositions.
