Collection: Tarik Hardaga

Tarik Hardaga is a Bosnian-Swedish painter born in 1960 in Sarajevo, former Yugoslavia, whose work is known for its classical realism and modern interpretation of traditional techniques. He began painting in 1980 and quickly gained recognition through numerous exhibitions in his home country. After moving to Sweden with his family in 1994, he pursued formal art education in Visby and Falkenberg, completing his studies in 1999. Inspired by classical art, Tarik has developed a distinctive style that incorporates the trompe-l'œil technique—creating illusionistic images that appear almost touchable—earning praise for his nuanced color reproduction and technical mastery. His paintings have been exhibited successfully across Europe, and his work continues to bridge the gap between timeless artistic traditions and contemporary expression. In addition to his artistic practice, he has voiced concern over the lack of young artists in his region, highlighting his commitment to the cultural future of the arts.
